(KRON) -- Three people were booked into jail Wednesday after allegedly stealing merchandise from a Spirit Halloween in Pacifica and injuring a store employee as they fled.

The Pacifica Police Department responded at 12:14 p.m. to the Spirit Halloween located in the Fairmont Shopping Center after receiving a report of retail theft. One employee was shoved to the ground by the suspects and suffered a non-life-threatening injury, authorities said.

Keen witnesses took the license plate number from the fleeing suspect vehicle and provided it to officers. A short time later, an automated license plate reader in a neighboring city alerted law enforcement to the vehicle.
